orlando florida. immediately you think of mickey mouse, glorious weather and shamu the whale. the area is full of tourists from all over the world who travel thousands of miles to come to the world famous theme parks. everywhere you go, it's commercialised - souvenir shops selling crappy disney shirts, hotels and motels flashing 'no vacancy' signs, bus loads of brits and other tourists, coming here to enjoy a family holiday in the sun. many have kids, ranging from young to old and every where is always, always packed.
but that's only what the tourists see. what about the orlando locals? to them, disney is just an everyday thing. no big deal. they don't freak out over the theme parks, having been so many times it's not a big deal anymore. sure, they make good money off the tourism, but there's a whole other side of orlando, that is never seen by the tourism industry. in orlando, florida, there are two high schools. medina high - just for the girls - and austin high, just for the guys. these two schools have always been rivals with each other, each one wanting to be the best. the teachers can't stand the thought of their students mingling and mixing with each other. it's unheard of. so. what happens when the students decide that enough is enough? it's time this stupid rivalry ended. right? welcome to florida, baby. it's just started getting hot.
